A Critical Analysis of Language and the Brain
ABSTRACT
The study brought to fore the important role of language, origin and specification of the human language, the brain workings and the results of impairment in the brain. In the study, it was found out that, language is an intricate part of the human brain; it is not a learned art as supposed by many and it is a biological instinct of the Homo sapiens. It is wrong, however, to exaggerate the similarity between language and other cognitive skills, because language stands apart in several ways. For one thing, the use of language is universal all normally developing children learn to speak at least one language, and many learn more than one. The article also delves into the workability of the brain as it relates to language composition, reveals that verbs and nouns are universal features of language developed by a specific section of the brain. Care therefore should be taken on how the brain is handled by protecting it from blows as it might likely affect reasoning.
