Computer Virus: The Treats and Remedies

ABSTRACT Computer virus replicates itself by modifying other computer programs and inserting its own code. "Malware" encompasses computer viruses along with many other forms of malicious software, Viruses often perform some type of harmful activity on infected host computers, modify other software without user consent. The first academic work on the theory of self-replicating computer programs was done by John von Neumann. One manner of classifying viruses is to analyze whether they reside in binary executables, one may reduce the damage done by viruses by making regular backups and reinstalling the Operating system. One of the recommendations was that if a computer is being attacked by a virus, the user should reinstall the operating system in order to block the spread of the virus to other folders in the computer.
