PROJECT AND INDIVIDUAL CHANGE MANAGEMENT LEVELS AS DETERMINANTS OF

ABSTRACT
The overall aim of this study was to assess the influence of project and individual
change management levels on corporate performance of oil companies. The rate of
change that organizations face has continued to increase more and more in the past
few decades. This advancement can be attributed to improvements in information and
communication technology, increasing democratization of economies, liberalization of
economies across the globe, and the fourth industrial revolution. Change, thus, has now
become inevitable and is turning into a regular feature of business life. It was observed
in the study that change cannot be successfully implemented if members of the
organization do not accept the change and do not change themselves. The paper
concluded that change management at the project level is about ensuring that a project
achieves its intended results and outcomes by supporting the individual transitions
required by that project. Project level change management provides the specific
strategies, plans, actions, and steps that focus on impacted employees and work in
alignment with a project deployment. Managing change at the individual level demands
knowing how change affects individuals and how they deal with it. Some changes
impact hundreds of employees, while others impact thousands. One of the
recommendations made was that there is need to practice change management in all
organizations, irrespective of their size, especially during pandemics and other
unforeseen circumstances, as this practice will keep the operations constant and hitfree.
